Frequently Asked Questions About Stairlifts
Stairway Chair Lift Guide
How do I maintain my stairlift?
Our quality stairlifts come with the longest warranty in the industry on most models – lifetime coverage on the motor and drive train, 3 years parts warranty and 1 year labor coverage. We offer several stairway chair lift extended warranty opportunities after the first year.
Can I rent a stairway chair lift?
Certainly. We offer several rental programs with our Rent to Purchase Plan being the most popular. This plan allows you to rent a stairlift for up to 3 months and receive full credit for the three months rental toward your purchase. You may also rent a stairway chair lift on a month to month basis with no long term contract, just a 3 month minimum.
Can I install my stairlift myself?
CT and RI each have requirements that require our stairway chair lift installation and service technicians be licensed. The license process requires several years of field training, factory training, instruction and class work that includes electronics, AC/DC electricity, hydraulics and building safety codes. Hudson Accessibility Products has over 137 combined years of experience in satisfying the stairlift needs of New England clients.
Do you have a stairlift model to fit my staircase which has a turn, spiral, or bend in it?
Yes, we can provide a curved stairlift that has been manufactured to fit nearly all types of staircases, traveling on the inside or outside of the staircase.
Will my stairway chair lift block our staircase?
All of our stairlifts fold when not being used. Some models require only 12" from the wall, allowing comfortable room to walk on your staircase.
How soon may I expect installation of my stairway chair lift?
Our facility houses one of the largest inventories of stairlifts in New England. We will install at your convenience, typically within 2 to 5 business days. However, in an emergency we can schedule your installation on the same day.
Will the installation damage my walls?
Absolutely not. The stairway chair lift rail is attached to the staircase only. Nothing is attached to your wall.
